DOCFOCUS(DFI) started in the Document Management business in 1997, using off the shelf products with DFI add-on applications. Using off the shelf products had major limitations that impact what our customers could do with the product.
1) Limited Customization Features – The restrictive architecture makes it difficult to work with current financial applications and business processes,
2) Limited User Interface – User screens and reports are canned and have limits to what can be customized,
3) Fixed Data Collection - The data that you can collect and manage are confined to a fixed structure,
4) High Priced Licenses - The price per seat is very high and the more users a customer has the higher the costs, and
5) Limited Technologies – Limited hardware and software solutions.
DOCFOCUS solution solves all these issues. We have installations that are managing thousands to millions of documents on-line - there when you need them... fast and cost-effective.
DFI eliminated the need to buy from a short list of hardware vendors. Servers can be any windows class hardware solutions that can run SQL Server or Postgres database and our imaging components. Scanners can be any type as long as they can scan and store TIFF G4 format with multiple grey scale resolutions. This opens the possibilities of our customers to buy servers and scanners at open market prices.
DOCFOCUS product comes with a full Archive solution that will now allow our customers to move data from the system to CDs, DVDs or Hard Drive storage.
When you buy a document management system from DFI, you can buy it as-is or add custom profile/search forms that fit your business. There are optional monthly support and product enhancement packages available to help you with the on-going system maintenance.
The minimum DFI Support package provides you monthly database and product support at a reduced rate. Additionally you can purchase the monthly DFI Product Enhancement Package that will give you update product changes as the product is enhanced with new functions and features.
Currently DOCFOCUS is used on over 70 sites and has more than 1000 users accessing thousands to millions of on-line business documents. DOCFOCUS can be used in small to very large sites. Some of our sites have as little as 250,000 documents on-line and others have more than 10,000,000 documents on-line.
